Minister for Children opens new MYL centre

Beverley Hughes MP, Minister for Children, joined children and young people from Wythenshawe to open The Addy Young Peoples Centre on Friday 9 September. After being taken on a tour by young people the Minister described it as … “ one of the best thought out and designed play and activity centres that I have seen, and I've seen a lot. It's very high quality and it looks positive and that's extremely important for children and young people because it says to them you are valued."
Fitness Centre at Longsight Adventure Playground

Work has started on the construction of a young peoples fitness centre at Longsight Adventure Playground. Funded by a £347,000 grant from Sport England’s ‘Active England’ programme the centre will be completed by the end of 2005.

North Hulme Adventure Playground – new youth facility opens

On Friday 15th October local MP Tony Lloyd MP will join a group of young people from the centre to perform the official opening of the new youth annex at North Hulme Adventure Playground.
First Dig at ‘The Addy’

After six years of planning and fundraising work has finally started on building a new centre for children and young people on Woodhouse Lane, Benchill. On Monday afternoon (20 September – 4.15pm) a group of local young people joined councillors, funders and staff from Manchester Young Lives - the charity that has developed the project – in a ‘first dig’ event at the site.
