Although our work is largely focused at our three main sites of Ardwick, Moss Side and Wythenshawe, MYL provides sessions, schemes and outreach programmes across the city. Below are some of the exciting projects that we are currently delivering.
- Parks & Outreach programmes operate in addition to centre-based play provision. Supervised play and sports sessions take place in green spaces and local parks in North and East Manchester, Hulme and Wythenshawe.
- Aiming High targeted playscheme provision for disabled children operates at our Ardwick site during school holidays. The provision is integrated with open access play at the adventure playground and has been a positive learning experience for staff and children on both projects. The playscheme delivers targeted support for up to 20 children with complex needs each term.
- Target Wellbeing helps promote healthy lifestyles for children, young people and the wider community. Our sites offer fitness programmes and healthy eating initiatives that are often integrated within play and youth sessions.
- The Addy Buffer Zone was developed with assistance from Willow Park Housing Trust. An environmental playworker based in Wythenshawe engages young people in natural play, encouraging an appreciation of nature through maintenance of the Addy garden and planting of fruit and vegetables. This compliments after-school and holiday play sessions.
